There seem to be alot of people on strike now and I think it would help totem out if they knew how many people are on strike for what kind of diversity. So using Titilate's thread as a guideline I am setting up a poll for people who are on strike to say what card Totem would have to release to break their strike!

I voted for other reason because I am striking for all of the above plus a bit more variation in the outfits.

I am not happy with there being no Halloween card as well, come on Totem there are threads on here that you must have seen for costume suggestions, something a little different.

I'm Striking for the same reasons as CyberVixen, plus I was Threatened with a Bashing if I Didn't !!!

I'm simply waiting for the new site that Totem claims will be similar to the more erotic cards that have disappeared this past year.

Technically, I can not strike since I have all cards and have an active 6 month subscription. However, I voted "Other Reason" because I hope for more Asian, Latina, Black, and so forth (all in costumes!)

Voted other because it was really all of the above. (would vote 'Girls with Piercings and/or Tatooes' if I could vote again though, just to give the alt girls some love)

Also, like 8thman, I would like it if the cards weren't so tame lately, but sluttier eastern bloc girls won't bring me back, only diversity.

I voted "Other Reasons." I have an active 6 month subscription, but only 168 cards, so I can go on strike also! I will not buy any tickets or Bonus Packs on this account until we get more Asian models, Latina models, Black models and/or more specialty costumes!

The reason I didnt put an all of the above option is for this reason, we cannot expect Totem to do a 180 overnight, so I personally think it is wise to pick one thing you are willing to hold out until they change rather then just complianing about everything, one step at a time is the best way forward. I will be willing to buy more tickets and booster packs when they release a card with a black girl, if it is a one time thing then I will go back on strike, but one issue at a time is the best solution.

In that case, I would vote black girls!

I agree Gabby but it is difficult to pick just one reason, also my main reason for striking is not in your pole, Costume diversity.

If you look at why people strike normally it is not for only one reason, it is an accumulation of many things that finally makes people say enough is enough.

I think those are just thematic titles and not indications of actual nationality... the true nationality of the particular dancer should be listed in their short bio.

Black Girls

Going on "strike" due to lack of diversity is a nobel yet futile gesture. It's not a question of finding girls, its a question of finding; Girls attractive enough, Girls who are in the adult industry, Girls who are able to put on some semblance of a performance, Girls who are interested in doing shows for VG. Mathematically speaking, the statistics are not on your side. Which is a shame.

There are more than two black girls capable of performing for virtuagirl.

The real futility is that the owners of this site are determined not to hire ethnic girls.

1. poll needed to have another options: all ethnic girls.
Mexican, latin american, spanish, portugese, black, native american, middle eastern, japanese and other asian, etc.

2. There are thousands upon thousands of good looking, sexy, and hot black females in the adult industry. It is just that czech girls are dirt cheap. Even cheaper than french girls that are local to totem operations or we would have mostly hot french girls on vghd.

Put out an open call for black adult performers and strippers to send in audition tape then pick some of them and every month of 12 cards you can easily have 2 ethnic girls. It can only help this site. It is 2009 and the tech is there to pick and choose good lookingwomen of all colors around the world

There's also the fact that Totem have a backlog of cards to release - they shoot and prep the girls waaaaaaaay in advance to ensure we get three new cards a week come hell or high-water (I forget when but Rex said a while ago that the had 100+ [150?] cards sitting ready to release) so even if they decided to switch to an all system, it'd still take some time to filter through.

Of course, it wouldn't hurt for them to acknowledge the requests and let us know what they're thinking (hint hint).

They can film 6 cards for 4 or 5 ethnic girls which gives 30 cards.
Releasing 1 ethnic card every 6 weeks means that every 18 cards released will include 1 ethnic and you would have enough cards to last over 3 years.

Actually 008Zulu, I doubt the Eastern Bloc is the only place so full of willing and able girls. I'm sure there are plenty of girls from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds that fit the criteria in such metropolises as London, Paris and Amsterdam. However, the issue is likely how much more cheaply the Eastern Bloc girls are willing to work, and Totem being more concerned with profit margins than customer satisfaction. Which is why this strike is necessary, to show them our money is not guaranteed and they will ultimately earn less NOT catering to their customers' requests (pleas at this point)

@GabbyGirl Though i heartily support the more ethnic diversity movement, i'm not on strike, so i didn't vote. As i said before somewhere, this recurrent caucasian girls that parades in here are totally my type. ;)

However, i'm considering another reasons to put a halt to my purchases or at least spend less. I'm finding VG a lot less hot than before. Dull performances, unimaginative outfits and mild, watered content are in fact cooling my enthusiasm. I know there will be another product with more "punch", but i really don't care about that product. Soundless porn, i presume? Good luck with that. Yeah, i'll probably buy a couple of shows featuring girls i really like on deskbabes, but i'm a customer of VG, that's the product i want to see improving.

Just because they have a snazzy website and a few programmers doesn't mean they are rolling in gold. Besides, businesses are in the buisness of making money. It has been many, many, years since a buisness' first concern were it's customers.

Maybe Totem looked at how popular (in this instance; how well they were selling) some of the ethnic girls were and decided that it wasn't cost effective.

They had enough money to go to LA for a shoot with some well known adult entertainers (even though we never saw the results of that, still no Shay Laren or Rachelle Roxxx) So I'm sure they have a decent amount of capital available for investment. They also had the means to hire plenty of ethnic girls for previous version of virtuagirl. So has that changed?

And I agree that's quite possible they made the decision it wasn't profitable enough in the past, but I feel like the very few ethnic girls weren't a fair sample to make such a sweeping judgment from, there have been other dancer's whose cards have done terribly and it isn't blamed on their ethnicity. Nevertheless, if such a decision was made, that is all the more reason this strike is in effect, to let Totem know there are those of us out her who will NOT pay for a SINGLE other card until there's greater diversity!

I thought Shay and Rachelle were cued up for the new XXX product, would make sense since we havent seen them or maybe internal Q&A revealed that they wern't good enough. As for diversity, maybe they haven't found any who are attractive and talented* enough to meet the standards.

Maybe the strikees here could provide suggestions of more ethnicly diverse women who are adequately talented*.



*Sex for the camera isn't in the same talent vein as being a good stripper.

Personally I don't care what or who they put on the new XXX product, all I want to see is my preference of more black girls on VGHD. Plus I don't think attractiveness and talent is any great problem to find. I know that here in Canada any high quality strip club has at least half the dancers as black or asian and I presume other countries follow suit so don't think there is much argument for being unable to find ones both talented and beautiful.
